Iran – Multitude(s) in Struggle

About

Reflections on the political movement surfacing in Iran, and analysis on its origins, development, and future.  This is written and compiled by Iranians in Tehran and in other locations.  This is written by people supporting antagonisms within Iranian society and politics and opposed to foreign intervention or forces of global capitalism that may see these antagonisms as an opportunity for recuperation, or a reflection of their own desires to extend their control and exploitation of this political moment.

Dispatches from the streets and rooftops of Tehran:

This Blog comes from a need and urgency to publish in an accessible space, the writing that we were doing during the June 2009 events in Tehran. There is much work to be done, not least of which involves analysis and communication about the stakes, circumstances, and energy of this spontaneous and invigorating “movement’, that we can call KHORDAD 88 for reference purposes-  Iranian month and year when this all surfaced – although there is not yet and may never be a name to label what has been happening.  All the more exciting.  This is not a contained moment, with easily categorized actors, and we would like these pages to reflect this, and to search within the various issues the complexity and the force of this moment of resistance.

We will begin by posting dispatches that were written in Tehran during the month of June… And then go from there.  These dispatches, untouched from their original form, were written in haste and came out of a visceral connection with daily events.  They are meant to be open to discussion, critique, and dialogue.  They are meant to reflect thought processes and a non-monolithic idea of what is happening.
